Recreation Department
The Anytown Recreation Department provides year-round programming to the community. Programs include activities for pre-school, youth, adults and the physically and mentally challenged. The Recreation Center houses a weight room, game room and programming facilities.
The Department coordinates the City's Independence Day Celebration, Golf Tournaments, Concerts in the Park, the Summer Food Service Program, Turkey Trot 5K Road Race, summer and school vacation camps, and the annual WinterFest Celebration.
Recreation oversees billing and payments and the permit allocation system for the City's Dog Parks, playgrounds and athletic facilities. Recreation works closely with the Department of Public Work's Parks Division by providing frequent permit updates, enabling the Parks Division to adjust maintenance schedules accordingly so facilities are prepared for user groups.
The administrative offices and indoor recreational activities of the Recreation Department are located within the Anytown Senior Center at 123 Main St.
